Next morning, after a wonderful breakfast, set out on your spiritual retreat in Goa and visit the following churches:
Sanctuary of Blessed St. Joseph Vaz at Sancoale
Located within the evocative ruins of the 17th-century São João de Deus church, this sanctuary is dedicated to St. Joseph Vaz, the "Apostle of Sri Lanka," who celebrated his first mass here in 1675. The surviving Baroque façade and laterite stone walls make it a revered pilgrimage site and a protected historical monument.
Igreja da Nossa Senhora de Saúde (Church of Our Lady of Health) in Sancoale
The Church of Our Lady of Health (locally known as 'Sancoale Church') has origins dating to 1606. Its original structure, damaged by an 1834 fire, left a riverside façade now protected as a national monument (1937). The current parish church dates from 1783. Within the parish grounds is the Sanctuary of Blessed Joseph Vaz, established in 1911. This Goa-born saint, later a missionary in Sri Lanka, was declared a Patron Saint of Goa in 2000.
St. Lawrence Martyr Church in Agaçaim
Perched on a hilltop overlooking the Zuari River, this mid-16th century church is dedicated to the patron saint of sailors. It is famed for its distinctive octagonal tower, a unique architectural feature among Goan churches, and its feast day on August 10th is celebrated with great devotion.
Pilar Seminary at Pilar, Goa Velha
A major Capuchin seminary founded in 1613, this hilltop complex is a key centre for priestly formation and spiritual retreat. It houses a museum with significant Christian artefacts and offers panoramic views, making it a place for both learning and quiet contemplation.
Break for Lunch at ONE of the Below Establishments (1-2 hrs)
Edwards Yard
A beloved, long-established restaurant set within a charming old Goan house and its spacious garden yard in Sangolda. Known for its relaxed, bohemian atmosphere and extensive multi-cuisine menu, it is a favourite haunt for both locals and tourists seeking a hearty meal of Goan, Indian, or Continental fare in a picturesque, rustic setting.

A church with unsual architecture, located along the old Panjim- Margao highway.
Chapel of Our Lady of Annunciation, Siridao
Locally called the "chapel of Jesus of Nazareth," this historically rich site was built in 1604, featuring a unique dome structure with interior elements that resemble a synagogue. It is renowned for the vibrant Pejechem Fest, held on the second Sunday of Easter, where thousands gather for a procession and are served sacred Pez, believed to have healing properties. Local folklore also holds that a Portuguese-built protective tunnel runs beneath it, said to extend under the sea to Dona Paula or San Jacinto Island.
