Naval Aviation Museum

The Naval Aviation Museum, Asia’s first museum of its kind, stands along the Vasco-Bogmalo road, a mere six kilometers from the city of Vasco-da-Gama; and is a treasure trove of knowledge and inspiration, especially for young minds aspiring to join the defense forces.

Perched atop a plateau overlooking the vast expanse of the Arabian Sea, the museum is divided into two distinct sections: an outdoor area exposed to the open air and an indoor section.

As visitors pass through the main gate, they are greeted by the imposing presence of the “Super Constellation,” which once served Indian airlines for passenger transport. Later, it transitioned to Air Force before finding a home with the Navy as a Maritime Reconnaissance aircraft.

The outdoor section features various aircraft and engines, including the Sea Hawk, Sea Harrier, Alize, Islander, Kamov, among others to make a total of 15 aircraft on outdoor display.

The indoor section has exhibits ranging from scale models of all current and decommissioned aircraft of Indian Navy as well as all four aircraft carriers to have served in the Navy, milestones in the history of Aviation, Naval Aviation and Indian Naval Aviation, pilot safety and survival equipment as well as information about all Naval Air Stations and Squadrons.

The museum is managed by Naval Aircraft Yard (Goa) on behalf of the Flag Officer Commanding, Goa Naval Area.
