Bonderam is Goa’s loudest and most vibrant monsoon party, held annually on the tiny, car-free Divar Island. The 42nd edition of this unique festival is set for Saturday, 22 August 2026. It all kicks off at 3 PM and is absolutely free to attend. The festival has a fascinating history, born from four centuries of boundary disputes between the island's six wards. Today, those old arguments have transformed into a cheerful, colourful celebration.
Picture six hours of non-stop island fun. The heart of the festival is the Flag Parade, where each ward marches with towering colours. It’s a proud and noisy re-enactment of the past. You can also see unique ward floats, the result of weeks of friendly competition. The air is filled with the sound of brass bands from dawn and live music on the main stage until 10 PM. The monsoon adds its own magic with green fields, grey skies, and warm rain. Everyone, from kids in fancy dress to adults enjoying Goan food like sorpotel and prawn curry, joins the party, making it a truly family-friendly event.
