About the Event
The International Purple Fest, Goa 2025 is the 3rd edition of India’s landmark global movement for inclusion and accessibility. Hosted by the Department for Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities and the Office of the State Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities, Government of Goa, in collaboration with the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India and United Nations India, the Fest highlights how Inclusive Thinking can drive Universal Design.
It’s not just an event it’s a movement that celebrates diversity, showcases the talents of persons with disabilities, and sparks conversations that can shape a more inclusive world.
Why “Purple”?
The colour purple is globally associated with power, dignity, and independence — values at the heart of the disability rights movement. The Fest embraces these ideals, promoting empowerment, equality, and full participation for persons with disabilities.
