20th ŚĀRṄGADĒVA SAMĀROHA 2026 is a distinguished celebration of Indian classical arts, bringing together scholarship, performance, and tradition under one platform. Scheduled on 25th & 26th March 2026 at the Institute Menezes Braganza, Panaji, Goa, the event is designed to offer a holistic experience through seminars, masterclasses, and dance performances.
Jointly organised by Mahagami Arts Research Foundation and the Nana Shirgaonkar Chair for Indian Music (Visiting Research Programme, Goa University), in collaboration with the Institute Menezes Braganza and the Directorate of Art & Culture, Government of Goa, the festival is curated by Parwati Dutta.
The Samāroha is thoughtfully structured into three segments across both days. The morning sessions (Śārṅgadeva Prasang) feature seminar and lecture demonstrations exploring classical dance theory and its historical evolution, including insights into Natyashastra and the continuity of Dhrupadāṅgī traditions.
The afternoon sessions (Śārṅgadeva Spandan) offer immersive masterclasses in various classical dance forms such as Bharatanatyam, Kathak, Mohiniattam, and Odissi, providing participants an opportunity to engage directly with experts.
The evening sessions (Śārṅgadeva Samāroha) showcase captivating dance performances by renowned artists and the Mahagami Gurukul, presenting the richness and diversity of India’s classical heritage.
